Itzel was born to a very Aztec/Native American family. Her mother being Native American and her father being Aztec. She grew up with a brother 6 years older than her, both were extremely close. They would go off into the forest near their home and play all day, coming home very grimy, covered in moss and twigs. She was a very happy kid, and still is.
The family would go every other weekend to visit her grandparents and she and her brother would explore around the old, big house. When they would go up to the attic there was a small antique chest, inside were papers covered in scribbles from when their grandfather was a young adult. They were about how he had this feeling that he was always forgetting something, how he had these faint memories of some tangible being who would follow him around either pestering or helping him, and how he didn't know which. There were ample papers that rambled on and on about how he wish he knew what was going on or what had gone on, and in some pages there were extremely hard to decipher scribbles of this being that may or may not have existed. These papers excited the girl and intrigued her, she would take home as much as she could without anyone noticing at a time and study them at home with snacks on the side.
On her tenth birthday her grandfather gave her a dream catcher. He said it was very special to him, but the reason he had forgotten. She put it above her bed and hoped that it would work and save her from her nightmares, which she was suffering from lately every night. Her nightmares would be filled with a tribal colored dragon with a great flowing mane. It did as it was made for, Itzel didn't have nightmares after she hoisted it on her headrest.
A few nights passed of blissful sleep, then one morning she heard whispers coming from the charm hanging on her bed. Putting down her crayons she picked up the remote next to her and turned down the volume of her television to make sure she wasn't hearing things. She was, and these things were coming from the charm stuck to her bed. Itzel stood up, she felt as if the charm was pulling her toward with its beckons. Slowly she raised a finger and ever so lightly touched the rim of the dream catcher. She blinked, and there was suddenly a sense of presence behind her. When she turned, in front of her was the deity-like being who haunted her in her subconscious state of mind. Stricken with fear, she opened the window next to her and jumped out, ending up on another child around her age. Quickly, she got up and pulled the child against the wall with her, where the monster couldn't see her. "Shh," she whispered with wide eyes, "there's a monster in there." The strange child then told Itzel who and what the dragon was, and why it was there to calm her down. The dragon then came up to her, asking Itzel to be it's host.
"I'm glad my calls have finally reached you," it said to her. "Please do not be afraid, for you are meant to be my host."
Itzel nodded, eyes still wide like an owl's. "Okay."
The scout showed her the way to the Faerie house, and on the way there told her all about itself and the other houses and what goes on, along with the rules and regulations. When she was welcomed to the house, she was taken aback by the scenery and friendly faces. "Oh yeah," Itzel turned to the dragon from once her bedside charm. "What's your name?"
"That is for you to decide," it replied.
"Well," she examined her spirit with thought. "You're strong and powerful, like a god," she smiled, raising a clenched fist. "Like ... The god of wind. Quetzalcoatl, let's be great friends."

Roleplay example|| [ Humming the tune she was listening to through her big headphones, a somewhat tall, curvy girl with short bouncy hair that swayed with her movements was dropping snacks into a fabric shopping bag hanging from her elbow. She jumped when she was tapped on the shoulder by her brother who was shopping with her and lifted a speaker off her ear with a giggle to hear that he was going to check something out in another isle. She continued to check through the isles to see what she needed. Soon, instead of walking, she was dancing and twirling through the store, not noticing the looks she was getting for being too into her music. Suddenly, her hand made an impact with something soft, causing her to open her eyes wide in surprise. She figured out that she had backhanded a boy wearing a fox mask in the back of his head, and began to frantically apologize. "Wow, I'm super sorry, like, I had my eyes closed and I was spinning around so I really didn't see you, it was a huge accident." ]
